Medkit in 100 Days at Sea: How to Get It, Bandages & Revives

Updated 2026-09-02 · Roblox 100 Days At Sea

The short version: you cannot craft a medkit in 100 Days at Sea. The crafting table has 7 tiers, and none of them lists a medkit or a bandage. The one documented, reliable source is the MukuMuku merchant, who sails up to your base in the morning and sells 1 medkit, up to twice per game, for 100 doubloons each. Medkits are described as "rather scarce", and using a medkit is the only way to revive another player, so a bandage will not bring a teammate back. Bandages come from the Penguin companion, which spawns one every 220 seconds. If you want a renewable heal instead, build the potion table and brew with green healing essence (the exact healing potion recipe is community-reported, unconfirmed).

How to craft a medkit (you can't, and here is why)

Both crafting pages on the Fandom wiki list every craft by tier, from the T1 raft and wooden floor up to the T7 yacht and galleon: floors, walls, shelters, sawmills, magnets, traps, boats, factories and turrets. There is no medkit, bandage, or any other healing item in that list. Crafting tiers unlock by levelling the bonfire, and all crafts cost wood, metal and glue (goop). Until an update adds a healing craft, treat "craft a medkit" as a dead end and go to the merchant instead. See the full crafting table and materials guide for what you can actually build.

Where to get a medkit: the MukuMuku merchant

The MukuMuku merchant sometimes sails into one side of the base in the morning and leaves immediately at night. Doubloons can only be spent in his shop. Stock is limited per player and does not restock between visits; rejoining makes items look restocked, but you still cannot buy them again.

His medkit offer is 1 medkit, purchasable twice, for 100 doubloons each. The wiki's advice: buy it if teammates are already dead or at risk, because a medkit is the only way to revive another player. The other big offers compete for the same doubloons:

Merchant offerPriceStock per playerNotes
10 pearls500 doubloonsOnceOne of the few in-game pearl sources; see pearls
Medkit100 doubloonsTwiceOnly revive item in the game
Rifle150 doubloonsOnceGood ranged option if you lack an offensive class
Ghost sack250 doubloonsOnceBest sack, 20 slots; wiki says skip it if you still need medkits
Corrupt shard500 doubloonsOnceOnly worth it if you have not activated a corrupt portal yet

Earning the doubloons

  • Doubloon chests give +15 doubloons each, except the weak ones inside oil-rig purple chests (around 7 to 8). Only one player can open each doubloon chest.
  • Oil rigs are the densest source: the small rig has 2 doubloon chests, the big rig 6, and the huge rig 7. You locate them by pressing the transponders on the three radio tower islands. Full details on the islands page.
  • Fisherman trades: Calamari trades for 50 doubloons and Unagi for 100 doubloons.

Medkits from chests, survivor islands and the cargo ship

Every island has at least one chest. The Chests page splits them into doubloon chests, fixed-loot chests (purple, green ghost pirate, boss and dinghy chests) and variable-loot chests with loot pools. None of the fixed-loot chests give a medkit. Whether medkits appear in the variable loot pools is not written down on the wiki, so treat "found one in a chest" reports as community-reported, unconfirmed.

Survivor islands have no documented medkit either; their reward is the survivor (+1 day multiplier). The cargo ship gives early-to-mid-game loot such as steel bars and fuel, batteries from the battery-room chests, and a revolver and a corrupt shard from its two upper purple chests; no medkit is listed.

How to find a bandage: the Penguin companion

The only documented bandage source is the Penguin companion:

  • It comes from the Ice Chest in the companions shop (120 pearls) with a 5% chance per roll.
  • Effect: spawns a bandage every 220 seconds.
  • The companion tier list rates it 4 of 5 stars for value and 5 of 5 for late-game, with the note "bandages become very useful in the lategame".

Compare it with the other pets on the companions page.

Can you revive someone with a bandage?

No. The NPCs page states that using a medkit is the only way to revive another player. A bandage heals; it does not revive. If your team is dying often, spend the 100 doubloons on medkits before the ghost sack. See the revive page for the full death and respawn rules.

How healing works

The wiki does not publish exact heal values for the medkit or the bandage, so those numbers are not documented yet. What is documented:

  • Max HP boosts come from companions: Turtle and Snorf give +5% health, Whale and Orca give +7.5%.
  • Potions are the renewable heal. Hover over a potion in the hotbar to read its effect.

Healing potions as the alternative

If you do not want to depend on merchant visits, the potion route is fully in your control:

  1. Reach bonfire level 3 and craft the Potion Table (5 metal, 10 wood, 1 glue).
  2. Farm healing essence (green). Every non-boss entity occasionally drops essences. The fastest farms are spawn-killing ghost pirates from a red lever on the lever squid island, or spawn-killing aliens on the dynamite alien island. Essences go in a sack, not your inventory.
  3. Put three ingredients in the table. Recipes are hidden until you craft a potion once, then stay discovered forever, even in future runs. Non-matching ingredients give a random Wacky Potion.

The Potions page only shows recipes as an image marked not proof-tested, so the ingredients and heal amount of any greater healing potion are not documented yet. The Lil Wizard limited companion gives a random potion every 2 minutes if you would rather skip brewing. More on the potions page.

Practical order for staying alive

  1. Early game: eat. A cooking pot (3 metal, 5 wood) turns three food items into carryable chowder. See food.
  2. First merchant visit with 200 doubloons: buy both medkits if you play in a team.
  3. Bonfire level 3: potion table, then hoard green essence.
  4. Late game: Penguin companion for a bandage every 220 seconds, plus spike traps or kraken arms so you take less damage during nights.
