Companions in 100 Days at Sea: Chests, Upgrades & Tier List

Updated 2026-09-02 · Roblox 100 Days At Sea

The short version: companions (pets) in 100 Days at Sea follow you around and give one passive buff each. You can own every companion but equip only one at a time. You get them from five chests in the lobby companion shop that cost pearls (Fisherman 40, Warrior 80, Pirate/Ice/Magma 120 each) and roll a random pet. To upgrade a companion, spend 3 fruits per level; fruits come from selling spare companions or from the daily login. Each level makes the buff a bit stronger, and a pet starts at half its listed buff at level 1 and reaches the full value at max level. Legendary companions cannot be earned with pearls: the ten Legendary limited pets (Lord of Lava, Mini Muku, The Corruptor and so on) rotate into the lobby every 60 minutes and cost Robux, base price 499.

How companions work

  • Companions sit in the "companions" icon of your inventory. Open it from the companion shop or the lobby icon to see everything you own, limited pets included.
  • Only one companion is equipped at a time, so the choice matters more than the collection.
  • Every companion has a level-up system. Each level costs 3 fruits, and each level raises the buff a little. The Fandom page states the buff begins at half strength at level 1 and reaches the full listed value at max level. The maximum level is not documented yet.
  • Fruits come from selling companions you do not need (Legendary limited pets sell for 6 fruits, Epic limited pets for 5; sale values for chest companions are not documented yet) or from the daily login, which also hands out a Frog companion repeatedly.
  • The Zookeeper class is the class the wiki recommends for companion builds: it doubles companion buffs and boosts damage-dealing companions. It costs 80 pearls when in stock.

Companion shop chests

Every chest is bought with pearls and rolls one companion with the odds below. You can get duplicates, and selling spares is the main way to earn fruits for upgrading.

Lava Snail30%Rare7.5% less hunger
Salamander5%EpicPicks up and delivers loot from surroundings
Magma Golem5%Epic+10% melee damage

Penguin, Snowman and Salamander only come from the Ice and Magma chests at 5% each. Our suggestion (not a wiki rule): suppliers (Crow, Seagull, Octopus, Salamander, Penguin) pair well with a base that already makes food and ammo, while buffers are the safer pick for fights against entities and bosses.

Limited companions (Robux)

Limited companions work exactly like chest pets, including the 3-fruit level system, but they cost Robux and give the strongest buffs in the game. There are two kinds:

  • Legendary limited: reappear randomly in the lobby every 60 minutes. Base cost 499 Robux (the shown price depends on your region). Sell for 6 fruits.
  • Epic limited: appear only in event or special offers, sometimes bundled with pearls and an airdrop, and may not be obtainable anymore. Sell for 5 fruits.

Legendary limited companions

CompanionRoleWhat it does
Lord of LavaDamage dealerBlasts molten rock fragments, like a Magma Staff
Ghostly GalleonDamage dealerShoots mini cannon balls
Yeti KingDamage dealerThrows mini ice spikes, like an Ice Staff
HydraDamage dealerBreathes a fireball
Air SupportDamage dealerDrops bombs on enemies
Mini MukuBufferUp to +25% overall damage, scaling with doubloons gathered
The CorruptorBuffer+2.5% overall damage per point of day multiplier
Mighty MantaBufferUp to +33% melee damage
Battle BuddySupplierGives random ammunition over time
Lil WizardSupplierGives a random potion every 2 minutes

All five Legendary damage dealers attack every 6 seconds with AoE damage plus a small knockback, and their damage grows with enemies defeated. They are mechanically identical; only the look differs. The Corruptor's buff depends on your day multiplier: about 10x is easy through survivor rescues and oil rig raids (+25% damage), and the wiki lists 21x as the endgame maximum (+52.5%).

Epic limited companions

CompanionRoleWhat it does
Ghost PirateDamage dealerGreen version of the pirate pet; short-range sword hit every 8 seconds, does not scale. Sold in an offer with 50 pearls and an airdrop, base 100 Robux
Shiny DolphinBufferExists, but its buff is not documented yet

Companion tier list (opinion)

This ranking is the Fandom community's view, not a developer statement. It splits the value before and after day 100.

BBattle Buddy (limited)Supply3/51/5Redundant once you have an ammo factory
BGhost Pirate (limited)DPS3/52/5Short range, long cooldown
SPirate Gunner (chest)Buffer4/54/5Best pearl-only gun buff
SSalamander (chest)Supply5/53/5Auto loot pickup
SSnowman (chest)Buffer4/54/520% slow makes fights and escapes easier
SPenguin (chest)Supply4/55/5Free bandages matter late

AParrot (chest)Buffer4/54/5Cheaper gun buff
AMagma Golem (chest)Buffer4/53/5Melee builds only
ASwordfish (chest)Buffer4/53/5Melee builds only

The wiki notes that even an A-tier limited companion beats the S-tier chest companions. If you only spend pearls, Pirate Gunner, Salamander, Snowman and Penguin are the targets. No chest gives a Legendary pet, and the known codes only hand out pearls, not companions. Pair any of them with the Zookeeper class for doubled buffs.
