Weapons & Armor: Best Melee, Guns, Raygun & Armor Tiers
Updated 2026-09-02 · Roblox 100 Days At Sea
The short version: the best melee weapon you can find in the world is the Saber (35 damage), then the Ghost Cutlass (25) from the pirate stronghold's green chest. The highest recorded DPS belongs to the Void Slicer (168 DPS) from the Corruption boss, but the Raygun (50 damage, 70-100 DPS, infinite ammo) is rated the best all-round gun, with the Boomstick (70 zone damage) close behind. Melee falls off after the early game, so the real "best weapon" is ranged.
Weapons come in five groups: melee, guns, harpoons, explosives and magic. You hold each once, cannot drop it, and get most from chests, island NPCs, enemy drops, or class starting kits.
Best melee weapons (ranked by damage)
You always carry exactly one melee weapon and start with the Hatchet. A stronger sword replaces and deletes your current one; you cannot pick up a weaker one.
| Weapon | Damage | How to get | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Saber | 35 | Chaos Master class start; rare drop from corrupt saber-wielders and corrupted chests | Chaos Master can pick its colour and hold two |
| Energy Sword | Above 25, exact value not documented yet | Occasional alien warrior drop; Alien Warrior class start | Dashes you forward on swing |
| Ghost Cutlass | 25 | Always in the pirate stronghold green chest | Best guaranteed melee |
| Swordfish Sword | 21 | Trade with the Fisherman NPC | |
| Poku Poku | 20 | Sometimes drops from Boku Poku entities; Battle Buku class start | |
| Machete | 15 | Common chest drop; Fisherman or MukuMuku trade; Swordsman and Zookeeper start | |
| Hatchet | 8 | Default starting weapon |
Class-exclusive: the Holy Sword (Hero) grows its damage per kill; the Claymore (Knight) has no documented value yet.
Our pick (opinion): take every melee upgrade, skip the Energy Sword if the dash bothers you, and stop relying on melee once you own any gun.
Guns
Ranged weapons have no pickup downside, so take every one. Ammo types: Pistol, Shotgun, Rifle, Flare and Grenades, from chests, the Fisherman, MukuMuku, rival survivors and ammo factories; Grenades only from Grenade factories or the Grenade treasure island. Buffs are per category, so "+% gun damage" skips the Boomstick (explosive) and staffs (magic).
| Gun | Damage/shot | Shots/sec | DPS | Ammo | Clip | How to get |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Void Slicer | 24 | 7 | 168 | Unique, 666 rounds, no refill | Overheats after 10.7 s | The Corrupter boss chest |
| Raygun | 50 | 1.4-2 | 70-100 | Infinite | ~11 quick shots before overheat | Ray Gun alien island; Alien Overlord class start |
| Blunderbuss | 60 | 1 | 60 | Shotgun | 1 | Common chest drop; MukuMuku; Pirate class |
| Hand Cannon | 30 | 2 | 60 | Pistol | 8 | Common chest drop |
| Rifle | 30 | 1.5 | 45 | Rifle | 3 | Common chest drop; MukuMuku |
| Revolver | 25 | 1.15 | 28.75 | Pistol | 6 | Cargo ship purple chest; Cowboy class |
| Flintlock | 20 | 1.4 | 28 | Pistol | 1 | Common chest drop; Fisherman; Sharpshooter, Crewmate |
| Squid Laser | Beam | - | 19-20 | Energy | Overheats after 10.5 s | Squid boss; Ancient Squid class |
| Minigun | 6.5 (unconfirmed) | Not documented | Not documented | Not documented | No clip | Corrupt minigunner drop |
Class-exclusive guns with no documented stats: Corrupt Minigun (Minigunner), Assault Rifle (Soldier), Dual Pistols (Raider).
The Raygun
The Fandom page calls the Raygun "one of the best weapons" for its high DPS and infinite ammo. It uses an overheat bar instead of a clip: after roughly 11 rapid shots it locks up for a few seconds until fully cold, so pace your shots to hold 100 DPS. Two ways to get it:
- Play the Alien Overlord class, which starts with it (and the UFO boat).
- Visit the Ray Gun alien island, a giant UFO flying over a field. Solve three mirror-laser puzzles so every laser points into the central hall, and a chest with the Raygun appears.
The wiki also suggests it for Kraken tentacles (little or no ammo used) and names it, with the Boomstick, among the best picks for the Corruption dungeon boss. Squid Laser and Void Slicer use the same overheat system; the Void Slicer adds a 1 second warm-up and has no auto-aim, while the Squid Laser is weak but auto-aims.
Harpoons
Harpoons are utility, not damage. Hit an item and it is pulled to you; hit a wall or floor and you are pulled toward it, a fast way to move through dungeons and across islands. Item drag takes priority, so aim at empty ground to grapple.
| Harpoon | Damage | DPS | Ammo | How to get |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Harpoon | 1.5 | 1.95-3.9 | None | Every player starts with it |
| Riptide | 5 | 5.5-13 | None | Harpooner class start; Mushrooms treasure island; MukuMuku |
Explosives
| Weapon | Damage | Shots/sec | DPS | Ammo | How to get |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Boomstick | 70 (zone) | 0.9 | 63 | Rifle | First opening of the Ghost Galleon green chest |
| Grenade | 25 (zone) | 1.1 | 27.5 | Grenade | Grenade Factory or Grenade treasure island |
The Boomstick is listed with the Raygun as one of the strongest weapons and the pair recommended for the Corruption dungeon. Your first grenade ammo also grants the Grenade item.
Flare
The Angler Flare deals no damage. It attracts the Anglerfish and makes it harmless for 15 seconds. Fire one at a time, only when the Anglerfish is on you. Uses Flare ammo; from chests, the Fisherman or MukuMuku. See nights for when it hunts.
Magic weapons
| Staff | Damage | DPS | How to get | Special effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Magma Staff | 25 (zone) | 25 | Lord of Lava, volcano island; Fire Mage class | Tap a point and a meteor drops there |
| Ice Staff | 25 | 12.5-25 | King of the Snow (yeti), main penguin island; Ice Mage class | Three ice spikes follow you, auto-fire at enemies and respawn about every 2 s |
| Wizard Staff | 15 | 22.5-37.5 | Wizard class only | Long range, homing, one target at a time, needs rhythmic clicks |
Armor
Armor has chest and leg slots; both halves of a set give the same buff and stack. A new piece drops the old one, and unlike swords you may equip a weaker piece. No armor has a downside. Best sources are chests inside container-style structures (outposts, makeshift buildings), including the ones you place for your day multiplier. "-x% dmg" means damage taken.
| Rank | Set | Legs? | Buff | How to get | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| A | Alien | Yes | -15% dmg, +10% max HP | Dynamite alien island; Alien Warrior class | Survives slightly more total damage than Diamond |
| A | Diamond | Yes | -20% dmg | Chests | Highest flat defence |
| A | Doubloon chest | No | -10% dmg, +10% doubloons | Chests | Only armor with a non-combat bonus |
| B | Warrior chest | No | -10% dmg, +10% melee dmg dealt | Chests | Only worth it on a strong melee class |
| B | Steel | Yes | -15% dmg | Chests | Temporary until Diamond or Alien |
| B | Iron | Yes | -12% dmg | Chests | Temporary |
| C | Bronze | Yes | -8% dmg | Chests | Temporary |
| D | Wooden | Yes | -5% dmg | Chests | Temporary |
Class-exclusive armor: Knight armour (-30% dmg, Knight class), Gold armour (Hero class, stats not documented yet), Military armour (Soldier class at level 2, stats not documented yet).
Which set for nights? There is no night-specific armor. Wear Alien or Diamond for the hardest nights, Doubloon if you are already tanky and want coins, Warrior only on a melee class. Whether Diamond or Alien wins overall depends on how health regen scales, which the wiki lists as untested.
All damage figures come from the Fandom page's hand testing on bosses with visible health bars, so treat fire rates as approximate. For damage buffs see potions.
